Fiscal Discipline for Challenging Times

Why am I Running?

In making the decision to run for the position of Stafford County Supervisor, representing the Falmouth District, any viable candidate must be able to answer the one question historically asked of all those actively seeking public office—namely, “Why do you want to serve in this capacity, and why are you qualified to do so?”

In my view, the Supervisor’s principal responsibility is protecting the financial integrity of the county’s budget, in order to maintain the high quality of life Stafford residents have long enjoyed. As a result of today’s unprecedented financial uncertainties, many of our residents have experienced job losses, dramatically reduced home values, and catastrophic decreases in their retirement savings. At the same time, area businesses have suffered from significantly reduced consumer spending.

Therefore, in today’s challenging times, and as we look forward to emerging from this difficult period, I promise to work diligently on the Board of Supervisors to help achieve the fiscal discipline that will be so essential to restoring our county’s well-being and hastening our economic recovery.

How am I Qualified for this Position?

As a small-business owner for more than 25 years, I have experienced first-hand the many daily challenges inherent in running a successful enterprise. I founded, and served as President of, the international medical publishing organization Communications Media for Education, Inc., headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. I personally directed all aspects of business planning, budgeting, hiring, staff management and sales development, and was solely responsible for meeting the weekly payroll for the entire staff.

Achieving this consistently high level of business success over a quarter-century required that I possess the following essential characteristics, each of which is particularly relevant to fulfilling the position of Stafford Supervisor:

It is my intention to bring all of these attributes, and others, to meeting the important responsibilities of Stafford County Supervisor for the Falmouth District. Therefore, I ask for your support on Election Day, November 3.
